Technically dead. Age: Again, unknown. Appears to be in his 20-30s or thereabouts. Species: Human, currently dead (Hollow/Arrancar). Occupation: He was most recently one of the ten elite Arrancar effectively serving as the personal fighters/warlords of the series' primary antagonistic group. Appearance: 6'1, solidly built, fair skin, light blue hair, light blue eyes; two darker teal stripes just beneath each eye; a black '6' tattooed prominently on his lower back. Additional distinctive features include a fully operable half jaw (Hollow mask) covering the right side of his face and a fist-sized hole boring straight through his abdomen. (He does not leak blood or guts or anything from it, and, yes, you can see and presumably stick your hand through it. I wouldn't recommend trying that, though. He'd likely rip your arm off, or worse.) General demeanor is casual irreverence or cocky badassitude. Special abilities/talents: Dead. Fast, agile, and strong; he's a monster in a fight and prefers melee style or (sometimes) using his sword if his opponent is powerful enough to pique his interest. Harnesses spiritual energy to augment his battle skills and to do crazy things like stand on thin air, cause his skin to deflect weapons like armor, and even revert back to his stronger panther-like form. Quirks: He can be very catlike at the oddest of times. He takes an obsessive delight in finding a suitable rival - someone that he considers a difficult challenge to defeat. He will go to extreme measures to have the perfect fight with that opponent, his 'prey'. Related to this, he has a very bizarre sense of honor, to the point where he will see through favors owed and even help his enemies - so long as he actually can get said fight out of it. Personality: Brazen, irreverent, uncouth; tenacious, cunning; reckless, over-confident; situationally lazy. Grimmjow has a short temper - and holds no qualms about expressing it. Even so, he retains a keen survival instinct and can usually hold his tongue when he knows that his livelihood is at stake. While he likes the obvious battle and finding means of testing himself, his dislikes are greater in number: rules, those who mindlessly abide by them, cowards, weakness, those who exemplify it, being ignored. Although savvy about a number of things, he is not a genius - nor does he care for the finer points of debate or politics. He has no true sense of loyalty, though he did operate with a gang of Hollows for a significant period of time. Sexual orientation: Opportunistic. He's not the relationship sort. At all. He's also liable to be pretty violent. Reputation: Dependent on the group. Humans are almost entirely unaware of his presence. Shinigami consider him to be an exceptionally dangerous threat due to what he is and just who is giving him orders. Other Hollows vary in their opinion. Some respect him for his strength; others loathe him for his attitude, or fear him for what he is capable of. Being one of the elite Espada, he has full authority to order around any Hollow beneath his rank; similarly, he is obligated - however grudgingly - to obey those above his station. Fortunately for him, there are few in that camp. Background Information: After his death, Grimmjow became a powerful and monstrous panther-like Hollow - a restless ghost or spirit - that devoured (and assimilated into himself) the souls of humans and other Hollows in order to further progress his own evolution. He was eventually turned into an even more powerful creature, an Arrancar, by the main bad guy of the series, who sought to raise an army of his own. As an Arrancar, Grimmjow regained his human-like form. During his service among the Espada, the elite of the Arrancar, Grimmjow would grudgingly go on the missions assigned to him but was also quick to disobey - fighting when he should not have, or leaving for areas that he was ordered to stay away from. He eventually formed an obsessive rivalry with the story's hero, Ichigo. He was so focused on this rivalry that Grimmjow would attack his own allies in order to be the one to fight Ichigo - and even force third parties to heal his opponent so that he could get the full fight that he desired.
